Employee subsidies: Dutch language.

Subsidy Scheme Counting with Language!

Employers and local or regional partnerships can receive grants to address low literacy. A grant is up to €50,000 per application.

Who is this grant for?

This grant is for:

Employers in the Netherlands.

They can apply for a grant for training that improves the language skills of their employees. This includes language proficiency in the workplace (reading, listening, speaking and writing). But it can also include math skills and online language skills. An employer can apply for subsidies for several training programs or groups of trainees at the same time.

Partnerships that have signed a “language agreement.

A partnership consists of at least 8 participants. Such as municipalities, a library and an educational institution. Healthcare institutions, volunteer organizations and preschools can also be part of this collaboration. The group can apply for funding for a project.

The participants of the partnership enter into a language agreement. This agreement pursues the same goals as the Counting with Language action program. This means that the project must contribute to:

  • the regional or local approach to adult low literacy or
  • the promotion of reading among children.

Applicants pay at least 33% of the eligible costs.
There are conditions attached to the subsidy. Read the text of the Count along with Language subsidy scheme on Overheid.nl.
